    So like even with an update from Google or something it would never be possible?

    Motorola makes the hardware - if the hardware cannot support it, it cannot support it.

    It would be Motorola, and it's not going to happen. It is possible if they change the firmware for the camera, but it would probably drop the performance too much to make the video usable, and they would probably use a really small bit-rate and the quality would greatly suffer.

    Without TV-out for the Droid, I think HD recording would not be as beneficial. I think that's why Moto didn't include it. I'm sad about both options being left out from our Droid.
