Is it safe to install apps from the market now?

    As we all know, the Hero was released with a battery drainage issue. After successfully following the instructions on how to circumvent the issue, I kind of had a feeling like I should be careful on which apps to download so as to not undo the workaround. (It did eventually happen but I have had to factory reset my Hero only once since then.)

    That being said, is it now safe to download apps willie nillie?

    Can you elaborate on what you downloaded? I've had no problems with any download and any further battery issues.

    Last time I went crazy and downloaded:
    -RoboDefense
    -Shazam
    -Barcode Scanner
    -PicSay
    -FxCamera
    -SportsTap
    -Spare Parts
    -Handcent SMS
    -Flixster
    -TasKiller
    -some spoof call app

    Since my last factory reset I have been more cautious and have:
    -Handcent SMS
    -Spare Parts
    -TuneWiki
    -Notes
    -SportsTap
    -Flixster
    -TasKiller

    Are you having taskiller actively go out and kill stuff?

    Well, I kill them manually so yes.
