I've had the phone for over a month now, live wall-paper turned off, GPS off, and have some updates on, but with plenty of time between them.

Sometimes when I leave it off charger overnight it will drop 2-5%, and it just dropped 11% in the same time last night.

I got 18 hours of use, where it went from 100% to 0% (and turned off), with fairly active use. Using juiceplotter I could not see the times I didn't use it, it was a pretty much straight decline throughout.

Using spare parts, the only thing that sometimes is way too high (partially awake use), is "Android-system", but sometimes it's not.

Using batterytime lite, these are the stats for when the charge is 100%:

    idle-time: 350:00
    talk time: 6:01
    video playback: 3:26
    audio playback: 6:20
    web surfing: 3:53

Sounds pretty normal to me for any smartphone.

2-5% drop overnight is normal, as reported by many members here. Mine is around 3%

The 2-5% is the part I'm sure is normal. It's the other aspects that seem maybe dodgy.

Mine can last 2 days, but I put it on charge every night just so I'm never without juice :)

the most i have got from my Desire is 42 hours, I usually get around 35. I leave it on GSM only, unless I need 3G.

    Facebook snyc's every 12 hours.
    Emails every hour.
    disabled always on mobile data

I installed Advanced task killer, I don't use its auto kill function but i do use the app close down widget, i found this improved my battery life massively.

The secret really is don't let your apps sync too often and don't use 3g unless you need it.

This thread has been a great help. Regarding only using 3G when needed, how is this turned on/off? Apologies if it's a silly question!

If you go to mobile network settings and in network mode select GSM only.

P.S there is a widget on the market place that allows you to quickly switch between the two. Just search 2g in the market place and the first result should be the widget made by curvefish
