Just seeing if anyone else is having similar problems... Web pages seem to load very slowly on my N1, when not using wifi. I use an orange SIM card that I got with my old nokia N82, which was a 3g phone. I always struggled with internet speeds with that phone too.

I do get the "G" and the arrows below it flashing away as suggest 3g is working.

Maybe I expect too much, but Jesus it can be frustrating!

    Thanks for any advice, folks

Yes. The G signifies gprs not 3g. Which its why its loading slow

Ahhh ok.... Well I do also get the "3G" too, I have just noticed.

Maybe it is just Orange not being the greatest or something... I had a Hero before the N1, and I had similar feelings with that too.. And I was at work the other day (centre of Manchester with full signal) and I speed tested my nexus one against a HTC Hero running with Tmobile, and it absolutely blew my N1 out of the water!

? Buy a couple of PAYG sims, bung on top-up & try 'em...

I did that to find out which network gave me the best speed/signal at the house I spend most of my time...

    Cheers!

Yeah, I thought of doing that, and I actually got a tmobile SIM card, but Orange offered me a great deal that I couldn't refuse, so am now on an 18 month contract with them..

No plobs folks, just wanted to know if any of you had had similar issues. Cheers.
