Is "soft reset" the same as power down/up?

And, is there such a thing on Aria? Holding Power, Volume Down, Trackball simultaneously?

Thanks

Nevermind, it must be something applicable to other phones, or a myth.

From HTC's site:
"What is a soft reset and how is it performed? A soft reset basically resets the memory structure in the handheld. This recovers the device from memory conflicts, corrupted system service chains (mainly due to attempting hacks), memory leaks, and system lockups due to the "Fatal Exception" program errors.
To perform a soft reset, power the device off. Remove the battery for 10 seconds. Re-insert the battery and power the device on."

yes that is a soft reset.... there is also the hard reset which you can do when the phone is on by going to settings/sd & phone storage and hitting factory data reset(will reboot) and when the phone is off by holding down the volume down and pressing the power button at the same time... then navigate to storage and clear it... this will place the phone back to it's original first boot state(provided you haven't rooted of course)...you lose all settings and configurations
