Was wondering if there was on out there
There is one at alldroid, although Cyanogen himself didn't make it, Koush compiled it from his source.
Does kspec work for the droid?
Im using koush's cyanogen mod , and so far it is the est one yet with a fully functional 2.1 launcher that works in landscape as well as portrait mode, have not had one fc at all yet. comes with 1g max overclock and it is very fast and responsive. changed from smoked glass 5.0.2 also i installed clockwork recovery and it seems much faster than the sir psycho one.
We have been discussing this for the last few days and it has been a very popular topic judging from the replies and views.

Does anyone have a copy of the zip? The CyanogenMod link on Droid Life is not working.
just download rom manager from the market it will download the rom for you
Download ROM Manager from the market (free). It will download and install the latest Koush ROM and the Clockwork Recovery he uses for his software.
Unless I am missing something, the free version didn't do this for me.
Email this to yourself
[ROM] First REAL Eclair ROM. CyanogenMod. v1.0.2 3/6/2010
You missed something. When you open the free version, the top option is for the latest version of CM. The fourth option down followed by option 1 on the next screen will take you to the newest ROM you can download.
This is a better link 22.214.171.124
Koush keeps everything up to date at the official cyanogen mod website.
Cyan was nice, but not for me. BB is still alot faster.
Oh well, I tried
You're welcome to post your opinion/experience but I didn't want to just let your experience speak without rebuttal. ...just for argument's sake...
I have used BB v.0.9 and CM 126.96.36.199...and I would argue the exact opposite. Nothing on my phone has been as fast as Cyanogen. I have had installs that were not as fast and found that wiping data, along with formatting the system, cache, and boot partitions have immensely helped with the speed. Just my personal experience talking...
I installed BB using the same manner and didn't have the same overall "snappiness" as I did with CM.
