Classifies the songs by ALBUM artist and no by "song artist".

For example, if I have a song with an ID3 tag as follows...
    Contributing Artist: A ft. B
    Album Artist: A

Is there a music player that'll classify the song under artist A as opposed to under "A ft B"? I really don't want 50 entries in my artist list because of "featuring" song.

Does anyone know if some music player app classifies songs this way?

Oh and having an equalizer would be a plus ^_^

    Thanks :)

I would think any of them would based on what the ID3 tags are on the song. If the artist tag lists the artist at A ft B, then any music app is going to classify it that way. PowerAmp has a nice equalizer.

Artist and AlbumArtist are two different tags in ID3. The OP is asking if there is a player that will sort by AlbumArtist. Unfortunatly I have not seen this feature on any app or most hardware players. Likely because so few folks know the difference in the two tags so no one asks for the feature.

Well I initially didn't know about it until I added my library to my old mp3 player(Samsung T10) and I found out I had 50 different entries for the same artist with featuring artists -_-

I have a related question: I have a few hundred ripped CDs on a NAS (network attached storage; this one is a LaCie). The NAS streams audio on-demand to a Roku Soundbridge which I own; it can also stream music to TuneWiki on my Android phone (an Eris running Froyo). I believe that there's an Astro extension which makes it possible for me to access the MP3 files on my NAS as files, rather than the streamed uPNP music which TuneWiki is using.

Rather than fussing with iTunes I would like to be able to prepare playlists directly on my phone. Then I would like to automatically sync the songs associated with playlists onto my phone (via Wifi, of course). All of this syncing should use a maximum amount of storage on my SD card, since I don't want to overfill the card and cause my phone to run poorly.

Does such an app or a collection of apps exist?
