    Hey,

Does anyone know if there is an android app that streams music from your pc to your android phone using either WI-FI or internet?

I know there is an app that allows you to control your media player on your pc using your android phone, but i want to do it the other way round.

Play Music From -> PC -> Android

    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Very good question, I think the best solution for this is TVersity.. i'm signing up right now as a matter of fact to see if it will work, especially since I also own a PS3 and wouldn't mind doing this as well. I will let you know how it turns out.

alright, i tried it out and it works!

    What I did:

Installed TVersity, set it up so it would take an outside connection (its a checkbox under settings)

Then because im connected wireless behind a router, i forwarded port 41592 to my laptops ip.

I added my music, pictures and video folders to it

Then I went to http://[myip]:41592/medialib/browse on my g1

    I can stream my music
    I can view my pictures
I CANNOT... stream video though.. i can download it to my sd card and THEN play it..but i guess its dependent on the flash or maybe browser.. all good! coming soon!

    Way to go Bonh !!

Im assuming you accessed the pc via the G1 browser?
And here's me thinking it would need to be an app.

Ability to handle streaming videos would have been nice, but i guess we can't have it all straight away!

Yep access it via the g1 browser. The streaming videos will work as soon as we get flash support .. so its not really tversity that is the problem... its nice tho I book marked the address and keep the program running from my laptop and I access it whenever... definnitely saves having to transfer songs on my sd card instead I just browse it. As soon as we get flash support ill try out the vids and let everyone know. Btw daz lemme know if you need help.

Oh btw I am having an issue with playing downloaded movies on my sd... but I think that's a different issue altogether from this thread.

Downloading a song at a time is a huge limitation. Check out orb.com - it's much better than TVersity. Their only limitation, so far, is that videos only play on my home Wifi connection. Still TVersity's videos don't stream at all.

Try Jam11 especially if your music is on iTunes on PC or Mac.
