I kind of rushed with this post before so let me redo it. I'm asking this question because my phoness battery power is at level 70% right now.. I haven't been doing much with it so I'm just wondering why its already at 70%.

I last charged my phone till 100% and unplugged it about 5 hours ago. I havent been using it much since then . I have used voice calls for only about 53 minutes.

I am wondering if this was normal. This is my first smart phone.

I have my display turned low. Wifi and gps are off..

You may have a bad app running in the background.
How was your signal, lower the bars, the more power voice calls take.

oh yeah.. It drops to 90% in about 40 minutes from being unplugged and fully charged

My signal is pretty good at times and I did a factory reset yesterday and reformatted my sd card before I went to bed and charged it fully in the morning.

The bars dont tell you anything. Check signal strength under settings. If its worse than
-90 dbm, its going to suck the battery down in a hurry when making a voice call.

Now that you've said that...I'd give it a day or two, the phone has to re-learn.
After I did the full wipe and reset, my battery life was crappy for the first day. I let it run till it shut it's self off, plugged it in and left it off. in the morning when full, I unplugged, pulled the battery out for five minutes, then put her together and turned it back on. I've been going 2 days+ on a single charge of the extended battery ever since...3 charge cycles since last week.

use apps like spare parts to see what's using your battery, as well as the battery widget - is it just the screen? is something using partial wake?

Check Battery manager to see what is using your battery. If it's the battery-monitoring apps..........then you know what to do.
