is there an app out for a lux meter (light meter)

    i need to measure the light levels in a indoor sports club, as a wild stab in the dark does anyone know if there is an app out for this ?

    I think not, as the hero does not have the relivant sensor

    You could perhaps use the camera for that. Feed it a graycard and check exposure. There's no application out there that uses this method AFAIK, but it *is* feasible.

    The hero does have a light sensor. Top left of the phone, on the opposite side of the speaker grille to the LED. It's used to control the auto-brightness of the screen.

    However, i doubt very much that it would be even remotely accurate enough to measure the light levels in a room, even if there was an app on the market that pupported to do so (and there doesnt appear to be one).

    That sensor is a light sensor (photocell) and works very well. I bet somebody could make an app to do what you need without much difficulty - somebody smarter than me:rolleyes:
