Is there an app to let you open other apps via voice command?

    Hi everyone,
I'm brand new to this world of mobile Internet. I feel like a kid in a candy store with all the neat apps out there for my new 3G.

I was wondering, among all the endless apps out there, is there an app which allows me to open other apps simply by saying their names? Ex. "open Settings", "open Google Maps", "open Pandora".

I just know it's gotta' be out there. Thanks in advance, to all of you helping on these forums. You're terrific help!:)

Try "voice dialer" already installed on your phone. It does many things.

Oh wow... DUH! It actually does pretty well. Better than "Voice Tag" which I found earlier today. I just knew there had to be something like what I was looking for. Thank you very much for helping a newbie out.

Voice Dialer can open most of the standard apps that come with your phone (including carrier-specific apps like SprintTV) and I've found it capable of opening some downloaded 3rd party apps. Though it's so inconsistent that it's easier to just open them manually.

I think Voice Dialer does its voice processing on the phone (hence its awful performance), whereas I think Google Voice Search does its voice processing on Google's servers. So Google Voice Search seems to be better at recognizing your words, though it doesn't seem to have the ability to open non-Google apps on your phone.

Following are some Google Voice Search commands that are worth knowing.
Call: e.g. Call John Doe at work.
Dial: e.g. Dial John Doe at home. (Same as “call”.)
    Send email to:
    Send text to:
Navigate to: (Launches Google Navigation with turn-by-turn directions.)
Directions to: (Directions via Google maps.)
    Map of:
    Go to: (www)
