ISO files from DVDs

Tested ripping Caddyshack DVD to make ISO file.

DVDShrink took 14 minutes and was 4.5 GB.
DVDFab took 18 minutes and was 4.4 GB.
DVD Decrypter took 15 minutes and was 5.8 GB. Also gave many errors when exiting, but they didn't seem to hurt anything.

Next step will be to use Handbrake to make MP4 files out of each and see if I notice a difference in quality.

Any idea why DVD Decrypter was over a Gig larger?
Also, do U think the larger ISO file would produce a better MP4 file? I guess I would think so.

DVD Decrypter rips an ISO, which is an exact copy of the entire disc. The other two programs you listed also compress the video to a certain size, as well as get rid of extra features like the previews.

Also, do U think the larger ISO file would produce a better MP4 file?

Absolutely. Garbage in, garbage out. If you start with an already compressed file, you will get an ever worse compressed file after you convert again.
