Anyone else getting some websites loading most of the page but then the last bit the browser loading progress bar hangs for ages. If I disable JavaScript then this issue goes away? Anyone know what this is? The site in question is times.Co.uk

I notice the same thing on a few Java heavy sites. Try to keep in mind that a lot of sites were developed with the desktop in mind and as much as webkit supports Java, you can't expect rendering to be on par with a desktop environment. I hate sites that use Java for adsense or other ad stuff because it always makes calls for data from 30 different servers that takes ages to load...

I'm hoping that firefox for android, when released, fixes some of the lag of the native browser....

    hey nexusmmm

just done some reading i didnt realise that the browser doesnt support java proper as such, i must have imagined that it wasnt doing this before, and it was adsense that was holding the times site up! i notice IE doesnt seem to like jave either!

i also read that google are developing for html5 so i guess in the future this issue wont exist! thanks for your advice though :)

Ha, yeah - didn't realize people still used that poor excuse for a browser! :p
