Is anyone else here using the Juice Defender app? If not, I HIGHLY suggest that you download it immediately. There are two versions in the market. One is a beta and one is the regular or what they call the "stable" version. I am using the beta and it's working great!

I don't know the ins and outs of the program yet, but I just installed it and let the program set everything up for me. This morning I pulled my phone off the charger at 8:00 AM to leave for work like I always do, and as of typing this it's about 10:00 AM. My battery is still at 100% per Gauge Battery Widget. I have never stood at 100% after two hours until I installed this app.

I will dig deeper into the app over the weekend, but the initial impression is that it really does help. If you get it, post your results here!

Just as an update, it's almost 11:15 AM and my battery is at 97%. So over 3 hours and it's dropped just 3%. Granted I haven't done anything heavy with the phone yet today, I have sent a couple text messages and downloaded a couple of app updates from the Market.

I also should mention that I am using the 2150 battery, I should have mentioned that in my original post. The bottom line is that I have never had this much battery left over 3 hours later. And that's with similar usage. So the app is definitely doing its job.

I have it, and love it. The paid version is called Ultimate Juice

I disable most of the features though because i use Y5 to handle my wifi and location.

The only feature i use from JD is to only check data 1 time every 15min. I think that feature alone is great for battery saving, it must be.

I have been using the beta one. It has a few more features. I love it though.

I think it was fixed. I dont think the WiFi/location setting works though, at least not the last time i checked. It was a known bug

You can set it up different ways..
    Mine does the basic
Data turns off with these rules.

Data turns on when screen is unlocked
It turns on 1 minute every 15 minutes to update.
If traffic is more than 50kb/15s then It will leave data on.

I remember having this a month ago or so, and it drained my battery faster than before. I couldn't uninstall fast enough. But that may have been before 2.2, and this thread has nothing but good things to say, so i may give it another shot.

Anybody else have setups that really seem to work?

I down loaded this and at the end of the night before going to bed my phone had only gone down one bar. This morning when I got up it had only gone down one more bar. This is a great program. I do not know what all it does so I just have it on the basic too.

I tried it for a few days... and it also drained my battery faster than normal.

Guess I'm just not smart? Haha.

    I use the default settings.

I had this on my phone for awhile, not sure if it was doing anything or if I really wanted it since I upgraded to the 3500mah battery.

I just installed the Uncommon Sense Rom with a clean wipe and decided not to put it back on. My battery seemed to drain MUCH quicker but being a 3500 still worked for me.

But as a test I decided to put it back on yesterday. i'm unplugged for 4 hours and still at 93% (yesterday I was in the 70s at this point)

I'll probably upgrade to the paid version since it seems to work well.

I've reinstalled it all this week, gave it another shot. I have the 1500 battery, and have JD beta, on default, and it has been giving me longer life. Before, at the end of my work day around 5:00, my battery would be down to 30-35% with relatively heavy phone usage.

Now, it's been at 65-70%! I like. I'm about to get greedy and see if I can tweak some of the advanced settings to get more, but really, with this much juice left, it's not really necessary.

The AOSP installer keeps failing on me when I try setup, any thoughts?

I'll have to give it another chance... Maybe I just didn't use it correctly. :p

I installed it, and I'm getting the same error as benson304 (AOSP installer). I'm now having other issues as well. It won't let me keep my Wi-Fi turned off. And it will just stop all connections. I tried to connect to the web to look something up, and it said no connection available.
I'm fairly certain I'm doing something wrong, but all I did was install it and set it on easy mode (default) Any thoughts? Is there a FAQ out there on how to use this?

Try to disable the WiFi and Location setting.

Then play with the Screen setting, make it so "Leave data enabled while screen is unlocked"

then play with Schedule, and make sure it says 1/15

everything else can be turned off/disabled

Got Ultimate Juice too, did the auto settings.

Anybody have any additional recommendations? I'm trying to create a battery conservative performance phone.

I have Y5 for wifi and I have tasker but havent set anything up in awhile.

Do you use SetCPU or UJ/JD for CPU control?

Here's my setup. I've only had this for 2 days, but it seems to be doing quite well. I'd like to see how it goes in a week.

    1. Bump charge in the morning
    2. I have Y5 for my wifi when I'm at home
    3. Juice Defender beta on basic setup
    4. Watchdog Lite for rogue apps
    5. Amazon MP3 Monitor connection unchecked, and force stopped (based on thread in this forum)

I'm a heavy phone user/geek and so far I've noticed decent battery improvement. I also plug in when I'm in the car to get more for the rest of the day, sometimes at the office. But, with the above setup, I'm curious how it goes with straight battery use.

Rooted with MIUI so I dont have the amazon thing. I might grab that watchdog thing, whats its purpose? i have a feeling itd be pointless since there isnt a single app on my phone i dont want.

Watchdog came in pretty handy today. I needed GPS to find a park across town, and when i didn't turn off GPS, Watchdog gave me a notification that told me GPS was on, but wasn't being used. Nice. Also, a nice little widget that tells me CPU Used and Idle, and how many apps open/cached (I think). This fluxuates lots and is a great visual showing how Android uses the available space.
