Went from rooted D1 to the X today...Lovin the X so far...I downloaded the root app but I havent pulled the trigger to root yet...Just messing with the phone and getting it all set up with my apps...Ran a benchmark of like 1450 stock, damn fast..

So I have the VISIONary app that does the root...Is it possible to get back to stock after you root the X?

    Thanks!

P.S. Way better than the Samsung Fascinate that I had for a few weeks!

It is possible to get back to completely 100 percent stock but it takes some work. You have to search for the 2.2 sbf and rsd lite 4.8 and the usb drivers. there are several threads around here about it. The visionary app does root, but if you want recovery and the option to flash themes and roms you will also need the bootstrap app. I would suggest purchasing it thru the market but it is also available for free.

Congrats on getting the best device available on Verizons or any other network! :D

Titanium backup paid version is a must have if your gonna try out different roms, the free version can be a pain to restore stuff. Also root explorer is another must have

Surprising how many D1 owners switched over to an X. I would have figured their love of that phone would have carried them straight over to the D2. Perhaps for some that wasn't a big enough change maybe? And so a stroll over to a bigger screen was enticing... I too owned a D1, but only for 3 days. The DX was just being released and after giving Android a spin, I figured I go big or go home.... the X truely satisfies.

I got my D1 because it was the first phone that was as good as the iPhone on another carrier than AT&T. It was always only a temporary phone for me though until a good one with no keyboard came out. Now I love my DX

Still loving the X but I have one more ?

When I go under setting and volume I have the media turned up all the way...On my D1 I when I would click on an app or anything really I would hear on noise..I also have make a tone when the phone is locked or unlocked..I can hear the tone but it is very low....Kinda bugs me but no huge deal really...I was wondering if its an issue with my phone or with the bugs with the X that is going to be fixed with an update?

Under settings -> sounds do you have audible selection checked? I think that should do what you are looking for
