Help K9 mail

I am using K9 mail to retrieve my hotmail email but its driving me crazy! When I first set it up it retrieves the correct 25 emails from hotmail bt from then on it seems to completely randomly pick up email from years ago and tell me that its just arrived! It doesn't even pick out emails that are sitting 'together' in my hotmail account....they just seemed to be picked out completely at random!

I have it set up to display 25 messages and only to sync messages newer than 2 days which its obviously not doing correctly...any ideas?!
