Help Kies problem

Heyy guys. So i have Samsung Galaxy S I9000 and it has been working fine, except for today when i decided to plug my phone into the computer for the first time in ages. i updated kies, but then it said i have to get a previous update before i could use this one so i did that. now when i open Kies, it says '' Un-supported device mode alert... reconnect the device in samsung kies (PC studio) mode. Current connection mode not supported by kies" and it doesnt look like it used to, its just like an itunes with an app store. so, my question is, what do i do, PLEASE?!?!
