OK. I spent the past year telling people NOT to add ATK because the OS has it inherently built in. Regardless, a few of my friends have been running it with much success in enhancing their battery life.

So, my question is not related to why or why I should use ATK - there are what...a million threads on that from back in the Eris days...

I currently am on Deodexed "Official ROM", KingXKernel BFS#1, Set CPU Ultimate Performance Battery Settings. I am going to spend the next 3 days trialling "Auto Kill 30 Min", "Auto Kill Screen Off" and "Auto Kill never". Since 7AM today, the combo of ATK30 and the rest has yielded me 58% battery at the time of this posting (6:29EST) - not too shabby considering that I have spent over an hour on the phone today as well.

    My question is this:
Can ATK mixed with all this crap cause any issues or conflicts?

I just cant stand how piss poor the battery is on this phone, and in direct conflict with my Eris (which took me about a month to get the battery working right), I just cant seem to get the battery on the Dinc to work with me.

You already know the argument against Task killers, and with 2.2, they're especially useless as 2.2 leaves almost nothing in the memory unless it's a service or actively doing something. I think even the creator of ATK as confirmed there's not much point to ATK with 2.2

If your battery life is increasing a ton with one, you may have a bad app that's keeping your phone awake. If you kill everything possible while it's running, you might gain a bit because your killing apps that use data or any services. You could see a delay in things getting updated, or stop working.

There's nothing inherently wrong with using an ATK, it won't hurt your phone, but you may run into problems, have random reboots, etc.

Maybe try a different ROM? I spent a total of 3-4 hours on my phone yesterday of actual usage and a total of 15 hours including sleep time and I still had 39% battery life left when I woke up this morning.

I also read that if you charge your battery fully (I plan to include bump charging) and wipe clean your battery stats (via ClockworkMod) after you have flashed your system with a new kernel, you should see a substantial increase of battery life. The dude who did it reported a 8hour usage time jumping up to 15-18hours. That's pretty huge and may be your problem.

Actually, I did try a different ROM, and it has made a huge difference. Thanks
