Wanting to learn bit by bit. Attempting to learn by trial and error is not an option. Rooting all of the new phones that I receive as they come out is not an option. Trying to get more of a grasp on how to manipulate operating systems. All other tasks are... "continue as instructed".

I'm root ignorant too. Perhaps this Incredible will be the first rooted phone I use. Right now, it is too difficult and there isn't a reason good enough for me to take the time or the trouble. When 2.2 comes to root, then just maaaaaaaaaaaaybe.
