Long press on the desired icon in the dock, a menu will pop up and it will give you "swipe action gesture" Hope this helps!

Well by selecting a app from that menu you can select messages or email or gmail which in turn, thats what your going to use for composing an email or text message. If your looking to create a swipe gesture that will open a email pre addressed to a specific person, no you cant do that.

    You can.

long press the desired icon > select swipe gesture > launch shortcut > Activities > Email (or gmail) etc etc. you will have to choose what activity you wish once you get to that step, it might take some trial and error finding the action you want......

I have my SMS swipe to direct message my wife as well as many other activities although not one for email but it might be possible to get to the screen you wish with the above steps

    Enjoy
