    So about 5% an hour?

Not bad, might test this out.

it tightens things up while giving more room, which makes it a bit more enjoyable.

I didn't notice any changes in how movies looked but it does fit more info on the screen which is cool. I looked at my Evo next to my wife's stock Evo and I like mine better now with it set at 200.

Seems like the dev took down the links to the free download. Anyhow, this is just a properties setting that you can change yourself if you're rooted and know a bit of adb shell and unix.

The file you need to edit is build.prop located in /system

The relevant part of the file looks like this:

Change that number and reboot. Course, you'll need to know how to use adb shell and the vi text editor :)

Found this download link: LCD Density Changer 3.0.apk

Just did a nandroid backup and installed the apk.

Lowered it to 200. Not sure how I feel about it, there is so much empty space and it's not like I can put anything there. I'll try it out for a day or two and see how I feel about it then.

    The default is 240 right?

Yeah, I found that the resulting display can either look good or look really wrong. It really depends on if the app/widget was developed with absolute or relative display sizes specified.

Some apps clearly have some sizes hardcoded absolutely while other elements are relative. Looks really ugly; text not lining up with the graphical part underneath, etc. I decided to go back to stock 240.

as you can see, Beautiful widgets is scaled to the left some, LauncherPro icons are smaller. This is set to 200.
  20. this app is intended for aosp not sense roms. sense is meant for a diff type of system res.

I used this for about an hour before I realized it was really messing up the display of some apps and games.

Some games have poor support for the Evo's screen as it is, and this just made things worse.
