Hi everybody,

I am starting my final year project soon which will involve writing an android app that will collect data wirelessly from a board (wifi or bluetooth) and then show it on the screen or do some other things.

My question is, How hard is it to learn how to write apps from scratch, my programming knowledge is limited to Assembly and c and very little Java/C++! I got about six month from now.

Can anyone point me to a good tutorial or books that can get me started?

Thanks everyone.

If you know any java and OOP it shouldn't be hard.

look at developer.google.com and study the lifecycle of an app. Vogella has good tutorials too.

besides that, just google specifically what it is you want to do and try stuff.

I knew zero java and got a couple apps I'm finishing up after a few months.

And using a good IDE like Eclipse is a whole lot easier than trying to do command line stuff if you're just starting.
