Help LED Notification Light Not Working...

This phone has the option to turn on the LED, but it only lights up when charging. It would be stupid for it to only have a light for charging and not for anything else. There's really no way for me to tell if something happened other than to turn the phone on every time.

Anyone have a solution to this?

It does light up for notification it'll flash really slowly to tell you you have a notification
