I have a Sony-Ericsson Bluetooth headset which I used for several years with my previous phone. I wanted to pair it with my new Legend, but for some reason when I press Scan for devices in the Bluetooth setup, my PC shows up, my neighbor's Nokia shows up, but the headset never appears. I thought that Bluetooth devices were pretty universal; shouldn't my Legend see this headset and pair with it without problem?

Just tested it with a Nokia bh-604 headset. Worked right away really...

Didnt worked at first cos i never use the headphones and had no clue how they worked :p but when i managed to put em in connection mode the phone found em in few sec and connected correctly.

Btw produces very nice sound with the headphones. Good thing to know since sound out of the phone speaker is rubbish and the ears you get with the phone suck big time to.

That's an over-the-ear headset you have there -- in the ear buds: no comparison ;)

I am having the same problems connecting to my bluetooth headset. I've been using a Samsung headset, but it seems like the Legend can't/won't recognize it. Would this be a software issue with the Legend?

Nevermind. I figured it out. Just need to hold the "answer" button down on the headset while the Legend scans for devices.

    THANKS wankafella!

Thinking there must be some similar set up for the Sony-Ericsson earpiece that I'd long since forgotten, I Googled and downloaded the manual (Sony Ericsson Bluetooth Headset HBH-PV702 User Guide Manual). One has to hold down the volume +/ - keys so that the thing starts blinking red and green, and then it is connectable. Got it working :)

Hi, I have a problem with my Legend: it seems that it's bluetooth transmitter can only do the range for about 30cm (1ft). my sonyericsson headset connects just fine, and other people are hearing a nice, clear sound of my headset (headset transmitter and phone receiver works fine) even on a long distances to a phone. but all I hear is some noises, when phone is located on a distance longer that those 30cm (wich I understand as poor transmitter on a phone, and normal receiver on a headset). I've tested my headset with two (sonyericsson and samsung) other phones - everything works fine there. am I missing something (I should use some bluetooth extender, or there is some sort of setting under settings menu), or it's a hardware issue, and I should repair/replace the phone? or maybe this is a normal situation for the HTC Legend phones?

@zpct04 Did you manage to solve this issue? I have the exact same behavior on my Legend that I bought a couple of days ago :(

Still no luck when trying different headsets.
I've now ordered a HTC BH-M300 to try to end the search. So far I've tried:

    Nokia BH-602
    SE HBH-PV712
    SE HBH-PV710
    SE HBH-610a
TomTom Go930 (..yeah not a headset but hands free)

Best so far Nokia, but not good enough, and you can't change ring volume you're seriously going to damage your ears with this one.

I have the same bluetooth issues.

I have tried out with Jabra JX10 (my old headset) - poor quality - no matter distance.

With Plantronics Discovery 925 I had to have my phone within 30 cm for the sound to be OK. But what a perfect headset by the way! Shame that it did not work with my Legend (I tried 2 different headset of this model with same result)

Then I moved on to Jabra speakerphones SP700. The sound quality was OK (both ways). However the FM transmitter was not that great so I changed it for the Jabra Cruiser.

The FM transmitter in the Jabra Cruiser is much better than in the SP700 - howevere sometimes the sound quality is bad - and sometimes its ok.

I have tested the headsets and speakerphones on another phone - and they work flawlessly.

So I guess it must be a problem in the Legend. I don't think its due to poor bluetooth signal as the connection is OK on some products. But is it just my phone - or is it the model in general?

Same here. I've tried with a cheap headset, but now I bought a Jabra BT2080.

I don't know what's the problem, but it has to be something with the phone.
