I'm going to include the LePan TC978 in this since it does not have a sub forum created for it.

I know this is the same picture used for the Le Pan 3 but it so happens it is the same picture being used for this model as well, go figure. And as before the red is about this hardware.

I also wanted to point this out. This sight Le Pan announces 3 new tablets
specs the units out this way. Per LePans press reliese.

I wanted to add the specs for the LePan TC970 in here to give an idea of the hardware changes going on between each model, so here is the LePan TC 970,best I can find.

    Out put:
LePan TC970-(none mentioned but there may still be something?)
    LePan TC978-(same as above)

    LePan 3-236 x 189 x 12.4 mm (9.29 x 7.44 x 0.48 in)

I thought it funny that the LePan 2 specked out higher than the TC978 but the TC978 is supposed to come with ICS, and the LP2 Honeycomb? Probably the release schedule at work there.

    Hi,
I just got the L.P.2 and I love it. This is my first tab and now I can't imagine not having it. I just upgraded to Android 3.2.1. Not a major difference (looking forward to 4.0 (ICS)). Definitely recommend this tablet to the budget-conscious people like myself.

Cool, how much was it, and from where?
And is it scheduled for the 4.0 ICS oe were you planning on Rooting and a new ROM. I don't remember what the LP2 was scheduled to get.

Le Pan II is supposed to get ICS sometime in March. I have had one for about 2 weeks now after having a Le Pan TC970 for about a month before that. I really loved the 970 but it tended to freeze and have to be reset at least once a day and the fact that no upgrade was possible I opted to get the Le Pan II for 262.00 at Amazon. I think I will be happy with this one for a long while. All the little bugaboos people have been griping about with the 970 seem to be solved with the II with the possible exception of The Promised HDMI output. It says it is possible with a 30 pin adaptor but they do not have one available. THere has been a firmware update for the II already and HDMI out has been eliminated in settings options. I don't really care because I probably won't use that feature anyway.

Yah, my Vizio VTAB 1008 has a micro HDMI plug on it but it will never get used. Not that it doesn't work, so far as I know it does, but I will just never use it.
I watch Netflix on it and read my ebooks, play some simple games, all I need and more.
All for less than 200.00. Tablets are getting pretty sweet.

I bought the TC970 a couple days ago. I liked it so much that I returned it and ordered the LePan 2. Very much looking forward to my new 'toy'...

I've been loving my new LP2. I used an iPad 1st gen to read music scores and parts. I've been waiting for an iPad like android tablet. And I'm happy to say that this is definitely the one.

The screen looks awesome, and the performance is very snappy.

I have Ice Cream Sandwich on my phone, so I'm very excited for the LP2 to get upgraded, although Honeycomb is definitely very fun to use.

I haven't had any hiccups albeit for a random freeze which I'm assuming had to do with the wifi policy "turn off when screen is off". Other than one time (I just needed to hold the reset button with a safety pin), I've had zero problems/aggravations which is definitely better than the iPad..(that tablet has gone to the girlfriend).

Battery life seems good and I'll update again later.

Send me PMs if you have any questions.

    Hello all,

I'm new to the forums and just got my LP2 a few weeks ago. This is my 1st tablet and I'm just getting up to speed on the Android OS.... I love both so far.

You may be in for a wait. Mine didn't show up for 3 weeks. Be patient, it'll get there. The price/performance comparison of these tablets to others is just about unbeatable.

Hi all. While I do have good experience with win and some with linux, the android is "mystery" to me. I just got it yesterday (le pan2). Did not had chance to play with much, as I had to charge the battery. So far I like it. I got small problem with. I can not get connect it to my laptop that is running PCLOS linux system. I love the PCLOS and , to my personal experience, it is the best distro. I have KDE version. I can connect to win on my desktop(win7), but not linux. Does any one have some kind of experience with?. Just wish that the power button would be a bit bigger.
I really hate to boot win os ( on second hd).
I heard, that someone installed linux os on tablet. That would be interesting.

any one know of easy way to wake up the tablet?
It is kind of irritating to have to push the power button every time the screen shut down.
The other "thing" I notice. When I plug the charger, the tablet will not shut down for good. Restart after a min. I have to button uncheck, but it still waking up.

No one knows for sure or if the company will even follow thru. It's supposedly in internal beta testing. Check out the le pan life forums, the most info for us le pan owners can be found there.
