not sure what causes it but i've had that problem too. just partitioned and formatted sd card again. used cwm for both selected ext4 when link2sd asks

fixed!!!!! backed up sd on computer, used easeus to wipe card, put back in phone used cwm to partition ( if im not mistaken cwm makes it ext3) uninstalled link2sd re-installed, before doing anything with sd link asked and i selected ext4 and poof works fantastically and have had no problems what so ever. probably didnt have to go quite that far but i was at ropes end.

Someone else told me the same thing about cwm making ext3. I create a partition in "advanced" (2 gb card - 1024mb sd-ext - 0mb swap) and then go to "mounts and storage" - "mount / sd-ext" then "format / sd-ext". When I check it with mini tool partition wizard it reads it as ext3. But when go to link2sd (initial set-up when it asks what format) it will only let me use ext4. Any idea why?

did it to me too i could only select ext4 in l2sd every other option said could not create script not sure why yet but ill figure it out eventually. so i guess my card is ext3 and ext4 whatever though it works right now. but i am researching why it does that kinda curious.

    CWM makes EXT4 I thought?

i was told when u partition using cwm it makes sd ext 4 then when u format it goes to ext3. not saying thats true just what i was told. and mini tool will read it as 3 too

prevailkills, try darktremors out. i think link2sd is damn good and opted to stay with it til i saw that they had made installing darktremors just as easy.its a big improvement. installing apps dont effect internal memory at all. and its all done automatically .tho link2sd had an option it messed up when u updated system apps.using 2 gb ext and have 227 apps on. lol

Same thing here. It would only let me select ext4. I was going to do darktremors but had no computer access earlier today so I went to the market for link2sd and tried. It out. So far its really cool and I'm enjoying downloading apps with a care free spirit LOL.

Cwm creates ext2.... Then when you factory wipe it becomes ext4...

The only issue I have with darktermors is it moves all apps to the SD card. In most cases it doesn't cause a problem but there are some apps I would rather have on the internal memory.

Why are there some apps you would rather have on internal memory? Which ones?I thought the less there is on the internal the snappier the phone will be. Explain please :) thanks!!

i think i will try that hate thanks for reminding me i forgot all about that one. could you (hate) or someone post the link for darktremeors please?

That's true the less apps you have on the internal memory do make the phone snappier, but I prefer to keep apps that run as a service on the internal memory. The reason being when the phone boots up or if I'm transferring stuff from my SD card it will cut those services temporarily from running.

The one major app I absolutely need on the internal memory is Root Call Blocker Pro. I tried to convert it to a system app but it won't run like that. I also prefer to have Watchdog Task Manager, AdFree, Script Manager, and Juice Defender on my internal memory. All the rest get ran off the SD card.

A2sd does not unmount the second partition when using usb mode so all apps are still available. Link2sd works the same way. They both are started by init.rc which mounts the sd before anything is visible to the user and only a fraction of a second after internal mounts so you should have no problems using services from your card.

why doesnt it move all my apps to sd? and what are the best settings?

    hahaha nevermind figured it out

inigomontoyasr is the guy to talk to bout ap2sd.but basically link2sd makes a symlink for each app installed while ap2sd links the entire folder. hence memory is not used every time an app is added. there are several other differences but i think this is the main one(hope i got this right lol)

i'm not an expert it's just that i asked the exact same questions before i switched to darktremors
