I have sort of a weird question that I hope someone can answer. I know that Android is based on the Linux kernel. I am on Android 2.1 right now and the kernel version is 2.6.29 and Android 2.2 is version 2.6.32. My question is when you flash a new ROM, say an Android 2.2 based ROM, do you get the new Linux kernel as well?

I know this is sort of an extra technical question, but I was just curious. Thanks, in advance, for any insight regarding my question.
