I am looking for a way to listen to educational talks that I have as mp3s and podcasts at twice the speed.

My brother does this on his iphone and he learns twice as much as me :)

    Any suggestions?

I like .podkast and google listen but neither offer that option.
also tried the stock media player, tune wiki and cubed 3 - no luck on double speed.

    Any tips?
    Thanks

I have also looked for this and searched on my current pod/netcast apps forum to see if its going to be implemented, i believe its currently on doggcatchers todo list, but he can't implement it until android media player supports it, which it what doggcatcher uses for the audio playback,

so you will have to look for a podcast player that doesn't use the stock android media player, if there is any.

thats my take as far as i can see, so hopefully froyo might update this

Actually, I would be happy to find a media player that will do it. I have audio books and lectures that would be great to pound out in half the time.

I wouldn't mind paying for it either. Just none of the pay apps mention 2x playback. (that I have found)

Just tried Astro. It is in beta and has the feature but not working very well. Forced close and pretty awkward interface.

Does anyone know of any updated podcast apps that do 2x playback? I would have thought that this would be a more popular feature.

I use doggcatcher to get my podcasts and osplay to play at 2x (or any speed).

    doggcatcher

    osplay
(there is also a trial that only does 1.2x or something)

They are both pay ($7 and $5 respectively).

Osplay is still pretty sketchy. Some long waits to resume and occasional force closes. It also could use some help on the interface looks but it works for me.

Saves me tons of time listening to podcasts or books.

The resume feature on osplay is great too.

Hopefully people can chuck in a few dollars and the designer will keep making it better.

I am open to other options but this is the best I have found so far.

$12 is worth it to me to have auto-downloads and be able to listen to twice as much material in my limited time.

i use podtrapper. it doesn't appear to have that functionality, but the developer is very responsive, so it may be worth shooting him a note to see if it's something he could do in an update.

KiesCast dies this. Not sure if it's only available for Samsung devices.
