Something I found, may help with troubleshooting non booting kernels

I think it just bypasses first boot splash screen

Volume up + Volume down + camera + power

Little kernel is our secondary boot loader which initializes the Linux Kernel zImage and Ramdisk

    https://www.codeaurora.org/2010/03/02/little-kernel-based-android-bootloader/

It is not GPL so Samsung does not have to provide source code.

    HW Revision 9
    Booting Linux @ 13008000
    ramdisk@ 14000000

    cmdline: mem=336M console=ttyMSM2,115200 hw=9

    what device is ttyMSM2?

That's where all the Kernel messages are streaming to, right?

I believe it is one of the UART interfaces of the MSM chipset, but how do we connect to it?

One of these days, I'll do a dis-assembly of my phone, or I'll buy a busted one to tear down.
Maybe I'll find a JTAG header or something fun

My biggest fear is a piece of fuzz or dust between the display and the touchscreen that would piss me off every time I look at my phone :)
Oh, that and snapping a spring-tab when taking the phone apart
