Help 'locationfriendservice' running in .....

Does anyone else have this service running in background? I never used to have it but lately its always there, even if i disable it, its starts up again and runs all day.

I have been into maps and disabled locale (thought that may be it) but nothing its still always starting up.

What is this service?

I assume it's part of google latitude, but I've only had my N1 for 3 weeks so I'm just as stumped.

Ye disabled that but its still there!! Just stumps me as i never had it its only recently ....... hm

LocationFriendService starts, runs for 10-15 seconds, then disappears and comes back around 30 seconds later and repeats this forever... (times approximate). WTH?

Has anyone figured out what exactly this LocationFriendService is, and how to stop it? Been googling for an hour trying to get a straight answer. I already have latitude disabled. Restarted phone a couple times, still disabled, but the service keeps doing this.

I just turned off latitude and Gps has stopped randomly coming up
