How come on HTC location I have a map , indeed it shows where I am on that map... Zoom in and I can see POI but if I go to the near by screen and try to search for something near me it says no locations found?

Yesterday I drove 130 miles to the middle of the countryside, to somewhere I've never been before. After 30 miles, I stopped using HTC Locations, and switched to Google Navigation.
The reasons I will not be using HTC Locations to get home again are:

    1) Doesn't have most postcodes
    2) Chooses terrible routes for you to travel down
    3) Completely useless until it finds your exact location using GPS (which can some times take a few minutes)
    4) Costs money (after the free trial)
    5) Even HTC support don't know what it is, therefore cant help

Do the smart thing, and switch over to Google Maps. It really is a cracking piece of software

Locations is actually horrible.... When I am sitting at my house it shows my location to be off by about 5km in another town... Anyone run accross this problem?

In your house you haven't a proper GPS signal.
Go outside and it will be all right.
