Hello, im just getting my Droid all customized and stuff, almost done :) (already have UD rom and an awesome transformers bootscreen) and i am wondering a couple things.
    1. I want to replace my lock screen, specifically the pattern with a pin code.
-to really explain my thought process is i do not like the pattern thing and i hate lock 2.0 and apps like it becuase they are hogs on my phone (and the home button just bypasses them...). All i want is a simple pin code thats unbypassable then i will be a happy man. Which brings me to my second question:
    2. Have any past versions of Android ever had a pin code? What was the way of locking Androids before the pattern?
What i want to do is (in a nutshell) copy an old android pin code lock screen and paste it over the new droid pattern. I know its way more complicated than that but i think if i used something from google like that then it wouldnt be such an mem hog like the lock 2.0 type apps... so in review: New Pattern lock replaced with an older android lock (thats not an external program but apart of the system itself like the current one) that is a pin code.

I know my idea might not written so well but im working on 30min of sleep here....Thank you a ton for anybody who could spead some light on this. oh and i know im in the developer forum but im no ace, please feel free to speak to me like im a dum dum, and speak in normal language. Nerd talk is an acquired skill that i don't have yet. :)

    Hi,

I'm looking for similar info. Froyo 2.2 has the 3 variations for the lockscreen. Slider, pincode and pattern. The pincode option bypasses the slider screen and you don't get the email notifications with the puzzle pieces.

Is there anyway to combine these features in a custom app? Would you need to get into the source code and make mods or is there another alternative? It doesn't look like Google App Inventor would do that.

    Thanx - Dean
