I just wanted to let everyone know about a tip that I discovered; I've been frustrated with the lag on my lock screen, but I've found out a way that got rid of mine. I just went into 'Display' and turned off the Animations and voila, no lag at all. You swipe, and it goes right to home screen with no annoying lag. :D

Hmmm! Son of a gun. Hope it's not a temp fix like the tip we got way back when...Already got a lockscreen replacement anyway and like the ability to add widgets to it, but this is a nice find!

Interesting find! I am using LPP but I just turned off the animations regardless. What animations are there with Motoblur anyway?

That does make it a lot faster. Thanks for the tip. I don't see any "animation" being disabled anyway.

In the system settings. The only animation I can think of at all is the download arrow animation.

EDIT: that animation still works. Wonder what it affects?

Makes no difference on my phone. 2.2 running LPP if that matters.

the lock bar sliding over would be an animation but with it turned off the tail just disappears instead of sliding through the other side of the screen. works for me!

Animations are the when apps pop up, the screens shift from left/right when you hit the back button, etc. The "beautify" aspects of Android, much like iOS are animations.

If this helps my battery life, Ill sacrifice the animations. I turned it off this morning and as of right now (before reading the above post), I didnt even notice a difference.

    Starting from the home page:

Click your Menu button (bottom left "hard" button)
    > Settings
    > Display
    > Animation
    > No Animations (Should have 3 options available - No Animations, Some Animation and All Animation [default is all so your radio button is probably on that right now])

Then back out and you should be good to go.

That is NOT how to turn off the screen lock. Go to Settings, Location & Security Settings, uncheck the Screen lock option (this is the stock lock screen, btw)

Yeah, there is some, but honestly the OS its self with say, LP, have well enough animations. I've had mine off since the 4th day I owned it. Much smoother all around.

I just tried it, didn't notice a difference. Maybe it'll help with battery life though?
