    Hi,
For Nexus One, I am looking for a nice dialer that can do the following when I start pressing dial pad buttons:

    1. Searches through the phone book based on alphabetic characters within each button.
    2. Searches through call logs (recent calls, missed calls, answered calls)
    3. Shows call logs grouped by number or contact and when I press the entry, I get the complete log.
    4. Searches shall be from any position of the numbers; not necessary from the first digit.
On top of that, I would like to see an intelligent phone book in Nexus one that:
When a number is selected, it automatically inserts the home country code while roaming. All my local contacts are saved as local numbers. When I roam, I have this problem of inserting my home country code to call them!!

Is this possible ? or available ?

    Regards,

Have you tried Dialer One? It's free, it's open source and it seems to have a lot of the features you're looking for. It certainly has the alphabetic look-up and the call log.

    I haven't seen that, but
    a) it would be very useful
    b) it might be possible to pass on that suggestion to the developers of dialer one. The developer has a thread about it here in the xda forum.

I also use dialer one. It does almost everything you ask. As for inserting the country code, etc. I've never seen a phone do that. You have to include area codes and such with all your contacts. I never use just a local number for any of my contacts because of what you are talking about. I don't talk to many people outside of the country so I am referring to using area codes in my case.
