    Does such a thing exist? I have searched the marketplace and have come up with a bunch of stuff, but what is junk and what is good? I want one for a trip I am taking. Needs to be a local app that doesnt need network access to look up the words.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Lord Jezo,

    We just released version 5.3.12 of
    French English Dictionary + with several new features;

    • Single index search so you don't have to select a language direction.
    • Usage Examples displayed on keyword screen in addition to lookup list.
    • Improved Phrasebook, 528 phrases in 20 categories.
    See complete list in What's New section on Google Play.

    The dictionary, phrase book and verb conjugator work offline. Only the translator requires an internet connection.

    Questions and comments are welcome.

    Best,

    You can now use google translate offline. The French dictionary you download via wifi is about 150mb. But once you install it will translate for you from what you type in or speak. And it will also translate French words in a photo you take using the translate app.

    You can even speak to it in English and have it speak the French translation for you.

    And it's all free!
