Looking for an app that clears notifications.

I've looked around the web for a certain app, and I've either put in the wrong search terms, or the app doesn't exist. Since I can't seem to locate one, I thought that I would ask here.

I have a Droid X phone, and a Toshiba Thrive tablet. The phone is running HC, and the tablet has ICS. I get various types of notifications, and sometimes they could be numerous ones (especially after installing a new ROM and reinstalling apps), and it gets a little tedious wiping each one out. It's not bad with the phone, with HC, because it has a "Clear" button that I can tap to clear them out, but the tablet, with ICS, doesn't appear to have a feature like that

At the basic level, I'm looking for an app that can clear all clearable notifications so that I don't have to go through and clear them all out. I would rather click on something like a widget (or just run the app to clear them).

On a level that's higher than basic, it would be nice if the app had the ability to allow the user to clear them all out, but to self clear certain notifications like email, Facebook, newly installed apps, and so forth.

I hope that I was able to paint a decent picture of what I was looking for, and thanks for any insight towards finding this type of app.

I found this app Notification History. It says that you can clear notifications, and also block notifications from certain apps. I figure the block notifications would be as good as "self clearing" notifications for certain apps...

Thanks Brian for the reply and app suggestion! I went ahead and downloaded and will play around with it.

I was also contacted and informed that in ICS there is a small "X" at the very bottom right hand corner of the notifications, when you bring notifications up. It wipes off all the notifications that can be removed. This is also a big help, but I can see where I might be able to use that app suggestion that you presented. :)

Ah well either way I'm glad you got it sorted! I wasn't sure about it being a feature in ics because I haven't really used it. I stayed on gb and now am on jellybean!

Strange, the ICS on my Verizon Galaxy SIII has a Clear button in the notification drop-down. Maybe that's just something Samsung put in as part of TouchWiz.

I have a droid X phone with rooted HC, and a Toshiba Thrive tablet with rooted ICS. I wouldn't mind finding good working (rooted) versions of JB for both, but at the time, there isn't (at least, I haven't found one yet) reliable working versions for either. Both devices are suppose to be able to run JB. Hopefully, if there isn't a JB version for either device, I'll have a couple of more years of use before either can't run the updated apps out there.

Anyway, at the very least, I'm glad of the one touch function that wipes out all of the notifications...actually two touches; I have to touch the notification bar, and then touch the clear function. It would be nice if there was a one-touch widget out there that indicates how many notifications the device has, and then touching the widget wipes them all away. :)

I'm going to play with the app that Brian suggested tomorrow. I haven't had too much time today to mess with it. :)
