I love my HTC Evo and find it to be a great phone.

On many of my contacts in my address book I have four or five different phone numbers. Typically I will have 2 work numbers, a mobile, a home number and a pager or fax.

When I want to send a text message, I noticed that there is a "Send message" link associated with EVERY PHONE NUMBER, not just mobile numbers.

The problem is that if I am not careful, I may click on the wrong number and not realize it because the phone will allow me to create a text message to any type of number. And don't get me wrong, Sprint's Text-to-Voice service is great and free.. but... I would rather just have a way to specify something like the following:

"Allow text messages to all phone number types OR
Only allow text messages to MOBILE number type"

    I have 3 questions:

    1. Does Android 2.2 or the HTC software that is on it have any way to control this currently?
    2. If not, are there any good apps that will accomplish the same thing?
    3. If not, where is the best place to post a suggestion to both Google (android) and HTC (phone apps/utilities) for a future addition of this feature?

    Many thanks...
