    Hello,

I've been playing around with my HTC Magic a lot recently, especially to get the best look for its desktops. I finally found a great one but it is missing one thing to reach perfection (well, for my standards :D). Let me explain :

I have installed AppOrganizer in order to sort my many apps. I also downloaded many icon packs from the market and decided to go with the elegant Minimum Icon pack by Better Android. After installing my shortcuts, it looked very nice.
However, I decided to hide the status bar and went with SMS Unread Count as the main notifier. From what I read, it is possible to use your own icons with SMS Unread count and that's I want to do as the sets available by default don't match the Minimum icon pack that well.
It is said that I have to put the icons in a specific folder of my SD-Card.

The problem is that I don't know how to get those Minimum icons! Where are they located on the mobile ? On the device itself ? On the SD-Card (doesn't look like it)? I found a folder with the package name (com.betterandroid.icons.minimum) in the data/data directory of the phone but it was empty.

Where can I get those icons so I can copy them in the SMS Unread Count folder ?

    Thank you ! :p

    There you go :

SMS Unread Count icons are the one on the bottom. I'd like to give them the same look as the icon above (Minimum Icon pack). There are perfect icons for that in the Minimum pack...:)

    Thanks !

    Yeah I know...:D
I'm just looking to access the icon set on my phone. Where are icons located in an Android system, more precisely an icon pack ?

you could try pulling them from the .apk on ur computer.

pull the .apk to your computer and then open it using whatever program you use to open .zip files. then extract the images from the .apk.

not sure if it will work but that is the only thing I can think of.

I thought of it but I can't find the .apk anywhere. It's not an app, it's a icon pack, therefore not that easy to find, out of the market that is.

    Hey,

I know how to do it. My problem is that I can't get a grip on a specific icon pack to add it to the SMS Unread Count skin choice. I can't locate the Minimum Icon pack installation folder on my phone nor can I find an .apk or the set that pack is based on...

    Anyone ?

I think the apk you are looking for is /system/framework/framework-res.apk
Use abd to pull that file,

    Code (Text):
    1.
    2. $ adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk
    3.
then exract it apk file(with winzip or tugzip),
go to /res/drawable-hdpi folder. You can modify or replace icons. Now instead of repacking that directory you extracted, just open up the original framework-res.apk file and go to the appropriate directory and drop your new images in. (This method saves you a step of having to recreation and signing of the apk file.) Now push the apk file back to your phone:

Note: Backup with nandroid before bush apk file back.

    Code (Text):
    1.
    2. $ adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/
    3.
Once uploaded you'll notice a couple things crash, just reboot and you should be fine.
