can always move to a custom 2.1 rom with apps2sd partition on your SDcard.

(You can flash VillainRom 12 at least straight from the orangeUK at least, gain root and apps2d and not have to worry ever again)

useless I know, if you don't want to root.

Have you rebooted the handset? The space recovered from uninstalling apps won't show up until a restart, as the OS only rebuilds the dalvik-cache then iirc.

How much space have you got left after rebooting?

It might be giving you the message in error, you might just have not cleared enough space.

    I have had four roms:

    Stock 2.1
    Sky 2.52
    Stock 2.2
    2.2 Lite

EVERY version got the "low on space" warning and every-time, no social apps, no emal or email caches, no sync issues and over 250mb of free space.

Resetting, cleaning cache, social app removal, etc does no good longterm. The error strikes without reason. Android team should have fixed this ridiculous error. Folks are getting the error on every Android device- even versions with over 1gb of app storage.

Go into applications within the settings and click on the browser to clean the cache. If you are rooted Quick Cache Clean does all apps in 1 click.

In the future when you are ready to upgrade to 2.2 it will give you a ton of space. I do not use apps2sd, havnt bothered with that program. Within the same area where the cache is cleaned I moved a majority of apps to the sd card. Now have about 90mb free with more than double the apps I had when on 2.1. On 2.1 I had 40mb free and the phone was not happy.

2.2 is getting better on most roms, I am on a nightly from lastmonth with a matching kernal and battery lasts an easy 16 hours with heavy use. Weekend with not many calls, surfing email and texts it could go about 30 hours.

DHAndroid, sorry if I you already know this but, we have a seperate Sprint Hero Section for CDMA Heroes :) This is the GSM section.

I had a look at your recent post history and I didn't see any posts in the Sprint Hero section, so I assume you didn't know there were two sections.

Yes, to allow installation of a custom ROM supporting apps2sd, which is what does the clever stuff. :)

Groggy, deleting text messages and some apps helps but not long term.

There are 3 options to resolve this
    1. Get rid off unnecessary apps.. duh
    2. Do a soft reset on your phone to recover from apps with memory leaks
    3. Move apps to the SD Card instead of phone

Step 3 is the best and permanent solution. The key is how to do it without using Apps2SD or rooting your Android phone. You do not want to void your warranty by rooting your phone. Found this detailed article with step by step instructions and pictures on how to do this. Been banging my head for over 2 months now. All the articles on the Internet and support forums keep going around in circles. Resolved my issue
