LunarG is responsible for developing the low-overhead graphics API, Vulkan, that is based on OpenGL. We saw this demoed earlier this year and things are really moving forward now.
The LunarG team is splitting into two groups, the desktop group will be sponsored by Valve, and the mobile group has joined Google to work on Android.
