I have several apps that tell me a manual update is available. I downloaded the update, but can't seem to figure out how to install the update. Can anyone give me a walk through?

    It's installed automatically. ;)

Your notification bar will also tell you that it's been updated/installed after you do the update.

OK....I'm confused then as to why it says Update (Manual). If it's handled automatically, why the manual reference.

Seems like it also just said it was downloaded, nothing about installed. Sorry for sounding like a newb and thanks for trying to explain this to me.

The permissions for that application have changed. It can't automatically accept the new permissions for you as a safety feature, even if you've marked it to automatically update.

No worries, everyone is new at everything at some time. :)

See if I have this right. When it says manual update, it just means that the app has new permissions attached. The download/installation process isn't any different. Kind of just a "heads-up" for us.
