Help Market app broken, cant dl apps

When I try to download an app it just hangs, with the dl status bar moving left to right but doesn't dl anything. Tried rebooting, no avail. Is my app broke, or is the market down at the moment?

try going settings>applications>manage applications>market > and clear data and cache

this solves the problem 99% of the time

The Market is notoriously fickle. I had the same issue on Sunday trying to update one of my apps. I uninstalled it, immediately redownloaded it and the installation went without a hitch. You can also try (a) deleting the Market cache and/or data via Settings/Applications, (b) signing in to GTalk, or (c) sacrificing three white virgin cockerels when the moon is full. All have an equal chance of success... it's an infuriatingly-vague problem.
