So.. I'm not happy about the lack of decent android phones on at&t more than anyone else....

However, while thinking about it I can't help but, wonder if at&t is just deciding to not release anything at all.. rather than to have a repeat of the backflip...

While many people out there don't care for the backflip... it does have its purpose..It is a great phone and entry level device for people who aren't use to smartphones, much less android but, do want more from their phone..

It just lacks when the hardcore android enthusiast get in the game, or even just smartphone power users. Perhaps at&t has come to realize that unless it puts out something really good.. its never gunna win the android elitist. So rather than try to sway us with half hearted attempts through phones which come prebloated for us with junk we will never use.. It has simply decided to stay out of the ring until it can find some other way to aggravate the crap out of us while still managing to sell whatever phone they come out with.

I can see it now.. an android phone that only have music/pictures uploaded through itunes.

The Iphone 4 release date is June 24, 11 days away. I really don't expect AT&T to do anything to distract from that release. I would give it a couple of weeks and maybe see something Android like the Dell Streak after 4th of July.

I agree, AppleT&T doesnt want to have anything get in front of the Iphone4...dont expect anything now or for several weeks after the launch. I assume we'll get the streak sometime in august/september that would put 1.6 at a year old which seems to be there practice :p

My thinking lately is AT&T "announces" the rest of the 5 phones maybe at the very last minute in June (while keeping specs hush-hush), then they are not available until at least 31 days after iPhone4 day (June 24th). (Hey by the way, the rumored "availability" date the Galaxy S is July 25th - coincidence?) That way release-day buyers of the iPhone4 can't exchange it for an Android phone on the 30-day return policy.

Plausible...waiting and seeing...yay. I really dont care how they do it, but if they can get the Galaxy S (and dont lock it down with crap) Then I'll quit my bitching.

lol..... This poses the question how much is the nexus one really worth?

With any luck I will have a nexus one on june 23rd XD. Even if it means paying the full price.. at this point.. I need a new phone.. and it looks like the best option.

Lol.. I've given up hope for the most part.. if I'm stuck paying 25$ a month for data.. I want a lot more than what at&t currently offers :/

I wonder if at&t is really gunna pull an apple "Now unleashing the new high powered magical Snapdragon processor!"

I would hope they get boo'd off stage by people with dual core 1ghz and 1.5 single cores x.x
