You'll obviously tell I'm new at this - but I hope someone can help me with this problem on my original Motorola Droid.

I've just received the message: Low on space. Phone storage space is getting low. However, it looks like very little is going onto my SD card - if I go into SD card & Phone Storage, I see: Total space 14.93GB and Available space 14.67GB. The Internal phone stral Available space is 24.92MB. If I go into my D: drive, which I believe is the SD card, I see the same SD available space. I thought pictures were supposed to go onto the SD card, but I see no photos in D.

I have an enormous number of photos on Picasa and they show up on my Gallery (as I wanted). Is this causing a problem? I thought they resided on Picasa?

Can someone tell me why I am getting the low on space message and what I can do? I'm apparently much less computer literate than I thought (since I've been reading all the manuals and apparently haven't learned too much ).

    Thanks.

How many apps do you have installed? If you go through your list of apps in the settings menu, you can move certain apps to the SD card. Have you done this?

I am not sure about picassa as I don't use it, but the general rule of thumb is that all apps should be storing most data on the SD card (with the exception of some user data).

    Thanks!

I did find a way to move some of the apps and things seem to be working better (although I did lose some text messages). My Droid is running Froyo, and a Google search led me to this method to move the apps:Application> Manage Application> click app and click Move to SD card. However, not even half of my apps allow you to do this.

Is there another way to move the apps to the SD card that I haven't been able to find?

    Thanks.

If you are rooted and running a custom ROM that supports moving any app to the SD card, then yes. However, if you are not rooted and running stock, the app dev MUST enable move to SD in order for you to move it.

One other thing you can do is delete each apps cache (not clear data, rather clear cache). You can do this the same way you moved your apps. Settings>apps>manage apps. You will then see a button that says "clear cache" and it will either be grayed out (no cache being stored) or you will be able to click it.

Thanks so much - I've never cleared the cache (even though it always asks). Will do it right away.
