Help Menu button problems.

I'm having a consistant issue with the menu button on my Droid X. When I push the button to access the menu, the qwerty keyboard pops up. I am at times able to get the menu by hitting the button a second time but is quite annoying.
I am currently trying to save a photo sent via email but only access the keyboard.
This just started happening in the last couple weeks so it may have to do with upgrades? No new apps have been recently added,

if you hold down the menu key for more than a second, it automatically launches your keyboard. try the quickest press and release you can.

Quick push of the menu key gets nothing. I have to hold it for it to respond.

i'd say you have a defective button, thats not how it is supposed to work. a quick push should bring up the menu if there is a menu available, and on the home screen there are menus available

Have you tried a factory reset? It seems really odd that a short press doesn't work but a long press does.
