After typing in adb shell I got a $ is that correct?

also is :
mkdir /data/local/logs
mkdir /data/local/logs/kernel

1 or 2 seperate comands?

(It also won't let me paste into the shell...grrrrrrrrr)

That is correct. The $ tells you that ADB is working and detects your phone.

I forgot about not being able to paste into the shell on a PC.

JCase listed them as one command for copy and paste reasons. Yo'll have to type and enter them separately.

Nah. Go ahead to the second line/command, type and enter it.

That's OK. That's normal for this process. I think if you hit your "up" arrow key it will repeat your last command. Try it again.

Actually it says..... No such file or directory

It will be best to start over. If your phone still has the menu open click disable on it.

I would start with a new shell also.

Hmmm? I just tested the copy and paste function into shell on my PC. It works with the right-clicking of the mouse on mine. That would greatly speed up the process.

After typing in
ls -l /data/local/logs/kernel/log_kernel.txt
it says....
rwxrwxrwx root root 178403 2012 ect ect

and I have the root root message again...so I am moving forward with your intructions after that

ok trying the two commands again and yes the copy and paste is working great now
