Accessories Metal Back Cover - A fix?

Ok, so my first post, apologies if it's nooby.

Well, I was looking to get the S5 metal back cover, but of course, that posed the problem with the reception being hindered; severely.

So I wanted to ask, would there be a way to modify the cover, such as drilling holes where the antenna/s are, and maybe lining some plastic under? Would that work? Are there better ways to do that?

I'd love to have the metal back cover, I probably won't use it all the time, but it's nice to be able to change it up a bit; however if i can't use it without hindering my reception, then it's a no-go.

Any time you place metal between an antenna and the cell site, you are doomed.

You need to change your expectations, not the phone's design.

Put a pretty case on it, and you will never see the phone's back anyway.
