Dude, black Friday is almost a full four months away. No store announces black Friday sales this early. As to if they had any last year, I don't know. I wasn't shopping for phones at Thanksgiving.

    The term comes from business.
When a business has not sold enough for
the quarter, being short would be written
in red ink, or "in the red."
When sales are prosperous, it's in black
    ink.
"Black Friday" was termed that because
businesses do so many sales that it pushes
them up out of the red and in the black
    for that day.

Hope the smiley means you're just joking. But, for the benefit of those who maybe don't know, it has to do with the ledgers. When the ledger is written in red, that means that the company is operating in the hole; they don't have any money, no profit. When the ledger is written in black, it means that the company is operating with money and probably even making a profit. Thus, with all the sales and income due to the sales, the ledgers are written in black; black Friday.

Edit: Doh! Mexjoker beat me to it. :D
