Help Micro SD card

Just purchased a SanDisk MicroSD card. Could someone tell me the steps to transfer photos/videos AFTER i've inserted the card? Also - does it need to be formatted?, mounted?, etc? I will be transferring media TO my macbook pro. Thanks for the help!

Main settings, Storage, Format the sd card for use.

To use for drag and drop or copy and paste with your Mac, it needs Android File Transfer -

You can also look into X-plore file manager do copy from internal storage to your SD card right on your phone.

Great.... but how do I put the pics that are already on the phone onto the disc? Sorry - new to all of this ....

Once you have a file transfer in place, you should be able to find the files you want from your Macbook, mark them, and then either copy or move to the folder of your choice.

Sorry - I'm just trying to get my 400+ photos ON TO the micro SD to put INTO my iphoto.... can't figure out how to get the photos there first!

Look for a folder named DCIM, both on your internal storage and your actual sd card.

Back those up using Android File Transfer on your Mac because DCIM = digital camera images - the default area(s) for your camera shots.

If you use other camera apps, look for similar folders to their names, if not already under a DCIM.
