I was wondering if anyone is familiar with some of the off brand Micro SD cards out there?
The brands are Topram, Adata and Team. They are all 16GB class 6 cards
    Thanks

I have had some bad experiences with Adata, PQI, and Transcend.

I haven't had any problems with Kingston, PNY, or Ridata.

Of course, YMMV. I doubt my sample size is enough to be significant.

I have a topram 16gb 6 class. It does appear to be legit. Transfer speeds are very good. It came not formatted. There really is no way to confirm you really are getting topram though. I got mine from Buy.com through "CELLMEM". Adata is not really off brand. Newegg sells them. I would read reviews there.

Essentially they're all made in the same few factories that churn these out and gets rebranded by the buyers.

80% of SD cards come from one place.

Haven't used any of those brands of cards, but if it helps any, I've been using Patriot brand Micro SD cards for a while now and have had no issues. The only reason I've gotten them is because they were usually pretty inexpensive.

I just bought a 16gb Class 6 Transcend. I have never has any issues with them before in the past. And I do believe that both them and a few of the big names get their cards from the same place.

May not be the case with a brand new class card...like the class 10's (I would only stay with a 1st tier manufacturer) but after 6 months or so you should be able to go with someone like Transcend.

8 gb transcend class 6 works great, but had to hit 'reformat' when I put it in - I hope it doesn't do this every time I take it out.
